House Staff - Non-Residential
SPF is an exceptional sixth-form college for UK and international students, typically aged between 15 and 19, who are ambitious about their university places and career. Boarding supervisors help create the environment to support successful study and a high quality of presentation and care.
You will be part of a team providing supervision and support throughout term time and evenings, overnight and at weekends, although the overnight shifts do not require you to be awake all night.
Experience is preferable but not essential, as full training is provided.
Location SPF Boarding:
- St Barnabas, St Barnabas Road, Cambridge;
- Scholars House, Mill Road, Cambridge;
- Hope House, Brooklands Avenue, Cambridge

Salary Guide: Actual salary £11,871, pro rata for term time only (34 weeks), (FTE £16,571)

About the Role:
The role of Boarding staff has two main elements: to oversee the domestic aspects of boarding at SPF and assist with the supervision of boarders. S/he will manage the student kitchenettes, laundry, cleaning and repairs of the boarding facilities and will liaise with the catering staff. The job description cannot encompass all aspects of the job which requires a 'Duty of Care’ for the students and a flexible approach to meet that requirement.
Experience of children and young people or of working in a schools would be great, but if you have a caring nature, like being around people and are willing to help out as needed with domestic tasks then this is a role you would enjoy.
As boarding staff provide 24/7 cover you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins, and Bank Holidays during term-time.
