A temporary to permanent House Co-Ordinator post
Your new company
You will be working for an established residential support provider who are looking to expand their presence in the Manchester area and even further afield. Our client provides a caring and supportive presence for older children and young adults between the ages of 16 and 21 (16-18 on admission). These users have experienced trauma or attachment disorders in their lives as a result of physical, sexual or emotional abuse. A such, they are no longer able to live with their birth parents and may present associated challenging behaviours.
They have residential settings across the North of England but have existing homes in Hazel Grove, Stockport Central, Crewe and will be opening up a new service in the Trafford area of Manchester
Your new role
Your primary responsibility is to provide round the clock care and support to young people and to work with the young person towards achieving the targets outlined in their care plan. You will ensure that the needs of the young people in your care are placed first at all times. Your objective is to help enable young people to live semi-independently while teaching them valuable life skills that will ensure they live fulfilling lives. You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organisation and to strive towards excellence in care practice. It will be your responsibility to implement staff rotas, monitor staff attendance and hygiene standards and promote a positive, hard working culture that will help the young people to develop in to well-rounded adults.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to possess a sound knowledge of current legislation relating to children in care and have specific experience working with older children who present challenging behaviours The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working at a similar level with supervisory experience and additional responsibilities. You will also hold an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) and ideally hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
