Taskmaster is recruiting for a group of porters to work for one of our NHS clients in Leeds.

Location: Leeds

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday, 1400 - 2200
  • Monday to Friday. 1900 - 0300
  • Monday to Friday, 1600 - 0000
  • Saturday to Sunday, 1400 - 2200
  • Saturday to Sunday, 2200 - 0600

Rate of pay:

  • £7.90ph Basic
  • £11.38ph Night (between 2000 - 0600)
  • £11.38ph Saturday
  • £14.85ph Sunday

Duration: Until end of March 2019

Overview

To work as a member of the Facilities-Patient Environment team carrying out the cleaning and the movement of patients & goods/consumables between wards and departments. The role will be supportive in keeping the hospital environment, safe, clean and tidy.

Cleaning

The cleaning of patient areas (predominately patient discharge bed spaces,) using the approved methods and equipment to the required standard

To follow the agreed work pattern, as patient activity dictates or allocated via the local supervisor team or radio.

The disposal of refuse in accordance with Trust policy and the cleaning of refuse holders.

The cleaning of patient shared equipment in line with Trust procedure and practice.

Portering

The safe and efficient transportation of patients including their associated monitors I.V drips, pumps & oxygen etc, via the use of trolleys, beds and wheelchairs across the Trust.

The collection and returns of blood products via the blood tracking system and also the collection of specimens from wards and departments

To report any security matters which seem irregular and escalate to the relevant department.

Patient moving and handling

The moving & handling of (cumbersome and over 15kg) i.e. materials; patients' (acutely ill and/or from A & E resus) goods and valuables, equipment, pumps, drip stands, bladder scanner, heart monitors and fluoroscopy equipment to and from appropriate wards and departments as required using appropriate manual handling equipment.
