A Catering Food Service , Ward Host required to work within our large facilities Client based in Headington
As a Catering Food Service Ward Host, your role will be to provide a quality food and beverage service to the patients whilst complying with hygiene and Health and Safety Regulations and Procedures
Duties will include (but are not limited too):
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of cold and cooked food items to meet meal service deadlines, Liaise with ward staff to ensure an effective and appropriate meal service
- Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures in accordance with department policy and procedure and take remedial action where necessary
Report and take action on any breakdowns or damage to equipment or the fabric of the building to the Management Team. This should include accidents, fire, loss, damage, theft, unfit food or any other irregularities
To ensure beverage trolley is kept fully stocked and clean at all times, to clean the ward kitchen during and after service, following the kitchen Cleaning Schedule
To ensure all areas under your control are left as clean and tidy as is reasonably practicable at all times, especially at the end of each shift
Maintain the highest possible standards of performance, hygiene and presentation
As the ideal Catering Food Service, Ward Host you will: Demonstrate an ability to listen and understand simple instruction, clarify any uncertainties and convey routine information to others, Maintain politeness, sensitivity and respect for others, taking into account equality and diversity - especially in areas with public interface such as wards.
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will be required to attend and comply with any training in accordance with the Health and Safety Act or Food Hygiene Regulations, comply with all Health and Safety legislation, and ensure all COSHH along with manual handling procedures are adhered to at all times
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities of this post are carried out in compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Statutory Regulations and Trust Policies and Procedures. This will be supported by the provision of training and specialist advice where required.
These positions involve working with children or vulnerable adults and are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Various hours, with various shifts available
Pay rate £7.50 per hour from 1st April 2018 £7.83
