Home Ownership Officer

We are currently recruiting for Home Ownership Officer to work at The London Borough of Ealing within the Home Ownership Revenue & Service Charge team.

The Role
As the Home Ownership Officer at You will play an important role of being responsible for the collection of day to day service charges, major works charges and other ad-hoc recharges ensuring that this is carried out in a timely and appropriate manner and in accordance with the terms of the lease, the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 ( as amended) and other relevant legislation. You will also be Liable for undertaking arrears recovery action on service charges and major works (including advice on benefits) and attending the First Tier Tribunal (FTT) or Court as necessary.

Location:Ealing Council

Hours: 35 hours Mon to Fri (09:00:AM - 05:00:PM)

Duration: 3 Months

Rate of Pay: £16.45

Who are we looking for?
As the Home Ownership Officer for the Home Ownership Revenue & Service Charge team at The London Borough of Ealing we are looking for someone who has:

*experience of working with leaseholders within a housing or finance office environment and in a customer focused environment
*Accurately perform complex mathematical calculations and understand sums and basic formulas
*Knowledge and experience in the calculation of service charges under the terms of the lease, applying any relevant legislation
*Knowledge and experience of recovery processes on service charge and major works arrears, including any limitations and debt counselling and benefit advice.
*Knowledge of, and the ability to interpret and apply, Section 18-30 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (as amended) and awareness of the legislative and contractual requirements that impact on social landlords and the calculation of service charges.

*Organise and prioritise work to ensure agreed targets are met, and to assist in the development of the service and implement changes.
*Able to use to a good standard (intermediate level) software packages including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and e-mail and learn how to use in house applications.
