What makes a stay in a National Trust holiday cottage that extra bit special? There’s the dramatic location and the glorious scenery. There’s the getting-away-from-the-hustle-and-bustle feeling too. But for lots of our guests, it’s the thoughtful home-from-home touches. Like the fire you’ve prepared for them, to the biscuits and milk you’ve left out in case they’re peckish or craving a cup of tea.
This role is based in Bransdale, 10 miles north of Kirkbymoorside. What it's like to work here
Surrounded by dramatic open moorland, Bransdale is a quiet green oasis characterised by a patchwork of farmland and drystone walls. Footpaths and a bridleway cross the valley bringing in walkers and cyclists, while a single narrow road circles the dale. What you'll be doing
It’s the details like this that make you such a brilliant caretaker. On change-over days, you’ll make sure that everything’s clean and ready for our guests to arrive. This will include making sure beds are made, the laundry’s fresh and that the property is stocked up with fresh milk and flowers. We’d also like you to keep an eye out for any repairs or odd jobs that need doing. You’ll also be on hand to provide a warm welcome to our visitors and to respond to any questions or queries they may have during their stay.
