As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll have a key role to play in the development of the pupils. The school caters for students with special educational needs, which means they need more help than most. You’ll work with individuals, groups and classes, helping children learn and develop. Working to boost their self-esteem and encourage acceptance from others, you’ll also support the teacher by monitoring pupils’ work. As your skills are well developed, you will have additional duties, such as helping with planning meetings, working without supervision and liaising with teachers to devise complementary learning activities.

With your previous experience in a Teaching Assistant role and your NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and HLTLA qualification, you’ll have up-to-date knowledge of welfare and safety practice within education.
