Thriving secondary school based in Wigan seeking a History Teacher on a temporary to permanent basis.
Your new company
This secondary school has experienced significant growth throughout recent years and the Senior Leadership Team are now keen to ensure the school continues in a positive direction. The school is based relatively centrally in the Wigan area and therefore easily accessible from all areas of the North West, as well as having free parking.
Your new role
Joining the Humanities department, you will be responsible for teaching History across KS3 and KS4, as well as ideally teaching either Geography or RE at KS3. Starting in early October, you will initially be employed on a temporary basis, however there is a permanent position available from January should you be interested in securing permanent work. You will plan and prepare lessons, delivering these in a positive learning environment and then completing subsequent marking and assessment of pupils work. As this is a long term vacancy, you will also be required to attend parents evenings and other school functions.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status, be immediately available and willing to commit to a long term contract. You must also have the ability to engage with pupils easily, with particular success with lower ability pupils.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive daily rate and will receive significant support from both the school and your dedicated Hays Consultant. You will also join our Hays Refer a Friend Scheme where you could be entitled to receiving £250 in high street vouchers.
