An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring or existing Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist, looking for a new challenge, to join our Acute SLT Service here at the North Middlesex University Hospital Trust.
What we are looking for:
Excellent interpersonal and MDT skills are essential as well as previous experience of working within an acute hospital environment. You will have knowledge and experience of managing patients with complex dysphagia and communication difficulties. Experience of tracheostomy management and videofluoroscopy is desirable but not essential and training can be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills and there will be opportunities for service development.
You will need to be a team player, flexible with good communication skills and have the ability to work under pressure within an acute setting.

This role offers the opportunity to use your clinical skills across a variety of acute medical conditions and wards including General Medicine, MFE, respiratory, gastroenterology and Critical Care. There are opportunities to develop leadership skills as well as supervision of junior staff and students on placement. You will be encouraged to promote the role of Speech and Language Therapy within the Trust and more widely.
