What will this role of Highly Specialist Physiotherapist entail?

Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager, as a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist you’ll provide highly skilled and specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal patients, who may have complex and / or chronic presentations. You’ll provide specialist education and teaching to your colleagues, and undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for changes in practice.

What do I need in order to be considered for this Highly Specialist Physiotherapist role?

  • Proven experience as a musculoskeletal specialist physiotherapist
  • BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent, and a post-graduate diploma in a musculoskeletal specialist programme
  • A valid registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Proven experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
  • Competency across a range of physiotherapy skills, supported by professional and specialist knowledge, including infection control and health and safety
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Flexible approach to work and working patterns

Although not essential, membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and a Masters degree (or working towards) would be highly advantageous.

Salary: £38,000 to £39,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week within Monday to Saturday, working 7.5 hour shifts on a rota between 8am and 8pm.

Location: Chatham (Kent). With excellent road links from Dartford, Canterbury, Ashford and Maidstone.
