Highly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Two exciting opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic clinical or counselling psychologists to join the Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) in Bolton. One of these posts will be permanent one will be 12 months fixed term.

olton CLDT is based within a well- established integrated service. The service is truly joint agency and multi-disciplinary. There is an integrated management structure and NHS staff from a variety of disciplines work effectively and congenially with social care colleagues.

The posts will suit practitioners with at least two years post qualification experience of working with people with learning disabilities (including those with a diagnosis of ASD), and who are looking to develop their experience and leadership skills within a highly specialist role. You will have a passion for the specialty and for working with people with learning disabilities who have highly complex presentations. A desire to, and experience of, work with people with learning disabilities who are at risk of offending would be advantageous.

The psychology specialty currently consists of one 0.8 Principal Psychologist. The specialty is a very supportive one, having a strong commitment to quality supervision, professional support and CPD. Our section also provides regular clinical placements to local training courses.

Band 8a Highly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Full-time/permanent or 12 months fixed term

You will provide a direct clinical service to adults with learning disabilities who have complex psychological needs and you will take a leadership role in the provision, development and evaluation of CLDT psychological services to young adults 18-25 with a learning disability and complex presentations who enter adult services though transition. Your role will include the provision of consultancy and advice to other clinical staff. You will also contribute to the on-going planning, development and evaluation of local learning disability services.

Band 8a Highly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Full-time/permanent or 12 months fixed term

You will provide a direct clinical service to adults with learning disabilities who have complex presentations and you will take a leadership role in the provision, development and evaluation of CLDT psychological services to clients with learning disabilities who also have Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Your role will include the provision of consultancy and advice to other clinical staff. You will also contribute to the on-going planning, development and evaluation of local learning disability services.
