Basic to £25,000

Hours Monday - Saturday 9 am - 5.30 pm (One hour lunch with a day off during the week)

Our client is an established multinational brand with a strong retail presence through their 200+ stores based throughout the UK.

They provide a range of products from pawn broking, personal loans and foreign currency to the consumer market. Their goal is to build a brand which provides innovative products that are both transparent and fair in addition to providing exceptional customer service.

They are currently seeking to appoint a Pawn broking field authoriser to work within their asset centre based in Nottingham. The successful candidate will lead in the delivery of accurate authentication and authorisation through the 200 + store network.

Duties & responsibilities

To ensure all authorisation calls are taken in a professional & timely manner.

To provide accurate pawnbroking/bought gold valuations to store network and to negotiate on price/APR where appropriate.

To minimise fakes & anomalies during calls by ensuring all relevant questions & tools are utilised.

To train and give guidance to staff to help them understand quality, condition and market value of received goods to maximise revenue and customer surplus.

To provide authentication support to processing team when required and to give accurate prices for disposal relating to watches & diamonds (reserve/retail price)

To highlight to the business any current trends in relation to new fakes/fraud items as well as areas of increased fake activity

The person

A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the higher end pawnbroking/jewellery industry

A comprehensive understanding of valuing and assessing items

Attention to detail with a meticulous approach to your work

Highly skilled in authenticating and valuing precious metals, watches, diamonds & jewellery

A good communicator both verbally and in writing, exhibiting good questioning and listening skills

To be able to act independently and collectively with a high degree of business acumen

Ensure all decisions are made determined on risk with regulation taken into account

Work in a collaborative manner within various teams to achieve the desired results
