HGV (LGV) Mechanic
Salary c£36,000-£41,500 per annum
We are searching for a Qualified HGV Mechanic as our client is expanding their Salford Depot which is located close to both Junctions 2 and 3 of the M602.
You must only apply if you have relevant Motor Vehicle Mechanical Qualifications up to Level 3 such as City & Guilds or NVQ and ideally hold a CLASS 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) License .
The company is well established and they are specialists in commercial vehicle rental. Their Business has 6 rental depots, with fully equipped maintenance workshops in the North and South of England. From these depots they operate in excess of 2500 vehicles (of which 1200 are above 3.5 tons) throughout the UK.
The role of HGV Mechanic will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines and repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV Mechanic will be reporting to the Depot Manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers standards.
You will be required to have a stable main dealer background and must have knowledge of modern diagnostic systems, preferably crane or hydraulic systems

As a HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for planning work, managing diagnostics and ordering parts effectively whilst being able to carry out all repairs to the highest standards and with the most effective use of time.
We are looking for a team player to fill this role who will be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines. You must have previous HGV technical experience and be able to adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role to ensure continued high levels of work are carried out right first time.
Hours of work: 7am -3:30 pm - 12:30 - 9:00 pm Monday to Friday with 30 mins unpaid break.
Split shift (week1 and week 2)
Contributory pension scheme (after 3 months service)
Death in Service payout: two time annual salary
Standard pay: £14.50 x 8 hours x 5 days = £580.00 x 52 weeks = £30,160.00
+ Compulsory overtime 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (08:00- 12:00) £21.75 x 4 hours x 17.5 (Saturdays to work in 12 months) = £1,522.50
Non-compulsory overtime - overtime varies between 5 and 10 hours per week:
£21.75 x 5 hours = £108.75 x 52 weeks = £5,655.00
£21.75 x 10 hours = £217.50 x 52 weeks = £ 11,310.00
