HGV Mechanic / Supervisor

Job Role: HGV Mechanic / Supervisor

Contract Type: Full time / permanent

Shift rotation: Early / Late shift - Monday - Friday

Hourly rate: £16.91 per hour - Overtime available

My client, a specialist commercial vehicle service and maintenance business with depots across the UK is actively seeking to employ a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic with supervisory experience for their depot in the Basildon area.

Working on a wide variety of modern commercial vehicles the successful HGV Mechanic will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance, duties to include;

- Vehicle Inspections
- Correction of running defects
- General Servicing
- Diagnosing of vehicle faults
- MOT preparation
- Road testing

In addition to the above, 25% of your working day will be spent in a supervisory capacity. Duties to include;

- Raising job cards
- Booking parts out of stores
- Arranging for parts to be delivered that aren't kept in stores
- Quality control on HGV Mechanics work
- Booking MOT tests
- Ensuring that all required paperwork is fully completed

The client is looking for fully skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ). A Commercial Vehicle Driving Licence would be ideal for this role, however my client is willing to consider an HGV Mechanic with a full car licence.

The working hours of this exciting HGV Mechanic role will be from 06:00 - 14:00 on the early shift & 14:00 - 22:30 on the late shift, every Friday the shift will finish one hour earlier.
The basic hourly rate of pay for this role will be £16.91 per hour, overtime is available and will be paid at an increased rate.
