Hepatology Research Nurse

The Hepatology Research Department is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Registered Nurse who is interested in working within the field of Hepatology and Clinical Research. You will work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with potential for conducting a small number of research visits at GP practices.

The hepatology research department is a dynamic and busy department and you will take responsibility for a portfolio of hepatology research projects. We have between 10 and 15 clinical trials operating at any one time. Some of these trials are commercially sponsored and others are supported by the NIHR portfolio. We also have our own programme of HEY sponsored research focussing on Integrated Care Pathways for NAFLD Management in secondary and primary care.

You will be expected to show initiative and work in close collaboration with the hepatology research lead and wider research community. You should be highly organised, enthusiastic, patient focused and able to communicate effectively on a variety of levels. You should be able to work autonomously, be flexible to respond to urgent patient visits, show attention to detail and cope well under pressure.

This position would be ideal for someone wanting to learn about and get involved in hepatology clinical research and develop a new set of nursing skills. Prior experience in clinical research is desirable but training and support will be provided where required.

Informal discussions and visits are welcomed.

** Salary relates to Year 3 of 3 Year NHS Pay deal
