Hedging and Forecasting Analyst

My client, a leading Power supplier, is looking to expand its Forecasting team with a new junior analyst.

The Role

  • Raise trade requests for power hedging with the Hedging Supply team
  • Process new contract sales by updating the demand forecast
  • Identify data quality issues in sales and billing data which directly impact the quality of the forecast or the robustness of any assumptions
  • Production of position reports to senior management
  • Assist Finance in the financial planning processes to ensure accurate planning of expected power costs
  • Updates of demand forecasting models with latest assumptions
  • Ensure process documentation is accurate and well maintained
  • Report on the accuracy of the demand forecast

Required Experience

  • Experience of SQL and SAS
  • Advanced Excel
  • Proven ability in working with large complex spreadsheets and databases
  • High level of numerical ability
  • Proven time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good team worker, this role will require working with a wide variety of people across the business
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
