Healthcare Compliance Manager - Freight Forwarder - Heathrow

Job Duties

  • Reporting to the Branch Manager, implement Quality Management System within HSCC
  • Write local work instructions and other documents as required, in alignment with National work instructions
  • Control documents and records for HSCC in line with procedures; paying particular attention to those required for compliance to GDP; including retention periods
  • Create and maintain filing systems (electronic and hard copy) for all HSCC controlled documents and ensure staff are aware of filing requirements.
  • Initiate regular reviews and continually seek to improve the quality and effectiveness of existing documents
  • Management System within HSCC, including document controls for all on site activities
  • As part of the senior Branch Management team foster a culture of all aspects of compliance and quality excellence within HSCC
  • Ensure that all managers and colleagues with key responsibilities understand the relevant work instructions; their contribution and the consequences of non-compliance
  • Undertake and co-ordinate regular self-checking in line with GDP requirements and highlight non-compliances
  • Prepare for and assist Station Lead and RP with internal and external audits
  • Prepare for and assist DQM with internal and external QMS audits, including ISO9001
  • Working closely with GM (Warehouse & Transport|) plan rectification of non-compliances from audits and other checks, allocate responsibility and timelines, and report completion to Station Lead (PharmaChain) and DQM (Other Quality-related)
  • Subsequently monitor rectification actions have been sustained, and report any failures to GM (Warehouse & Transport) for action and Station Lead / DQM for info
  • Monitor compliance with CAA Aviation Security requirements for HSCC
  • Ensure all managers are aware of and comply with contractual customer service standards, contained within Customer SOPs
  • Perform regular performance monitoring and service quality checks, for all services provided by HSCC, including Airfreight, Warehouse & Transport operations
  • Report performance to BM, Station Lead and IFF BU QSHE Manager
  • Use TIP process to report non-compliances and manage corrective and preventative actions
  • Support airfreight operations in the provision of accurate quotations and documentation etc
  • In conjunction with IFF BU QSHE Manager, manage continual improvement programmes; including the initiation of programmes and ensuring the end-results are achieved
  • Arrange and facilitate the annual QSHE Management Review



  • Degree-level
  • Lead Auditor status


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality role/function
  • Provision of operational training
  • Working with Management Systems
  • Project Management experience useful

Knowledge & Skills

  • Pharma & Healthcare supply chain and quality control requirements
  • GDP requirements
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 implementation
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
