We are looking for an experienced spiritual and pastoral care provider to join our progressive team of healthcare chaplains delivering a person centred, evidence based programme of spiritual care to patients, carers and staff within NHS Western Isles. This post will focus on spiritual care in Uist & Barra Hospital as well as in the community and will involve working with other healthcare disciplines.

You will be educated to degree level in the relevant area and specialist training in healthcare chaplaincy would be an advantage. You will have a good contemporary knowledge and understanding of NHS Scotland guidelines and recent developments in spiritual care. Based in Uist & Barra Hospital you will be required to travel in the community covered by the Hospital.

The post holder will work closely with the Lead Chaplain and show a commitment to provide safe and effective spiritual and pastoral care. A vision for providing a sustainable and effective model of future spiritual care in the Western Isles is desired for the post.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
