Job Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in Plymouth. Achieving an "outstanding" rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the treatment centre is the first independent sector treatment centre to achieve this and are in the top three per cent of hospitals in the country to receive this rating. Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre offers high quality elective surgery for the local populations of Devon and Cornwall, specialising in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor orthopaedic procedures. Responsible To Day Surgery and Endoscopy Manager Key Responsibilities As a key member of the team you will work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. Key duties will include: • Assisting in the admission of new patients to each clinical area by preparing the area, welcoming and orientating the patient • Assisting the registered nurse with monitoring the patients’ vital signs, understanding and identifying and reporting deviations from the norm • Assisting the registered nurse in planning the care needs of the patient • Contributing to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care • Assisting with the hygiene, mobility and nutrition needs of the patient Qualifications • NVQ level 1 & 2 in healthcare Additional Information Please note that the salary for this role is £16,000 per annum.
