Acorn Recruitment are currently searching for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join my Waste Management client, based in Preston.
Reporting in to the Health & Safety Manager, the main purpose of this role is to support the H&S Manager with undertaking Internal Compliance Audits, Legislation Audits and 3rd Party Audits. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Health, Safety and Compliance and have experience within the Waste Management / Recycling industry.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
*Undertake risk assessments
*Prepare and update controlled documents
*Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards
*Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
*Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
*Provide training and advice to managers and employees about Health and Safety issues and risks
*Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for the Health and Safety Manager
*Experience working within a Health & Safety role
*NEBOSH general certificate, including a degree (or working towards)
*Minimum 2 years Waste or Recycling experience
