Health & Safety Officer - Guildford

£28,000 - £30,000

Based year round in the UK, with regular overseas travel where needed. To support the Health & Safety Manager & team and ensure that the business operates within industry guidelines and are providing clients with good quality, safe products and services. Also responsible for UK & Overseas staff welfare and workplace safety. Working closely with the Overseas Teams, Agents and Suppliers to ensure any issues are identified and resolved.

Principle Accountabilities

  • To assist and support the Health & Safety Manager and team
  • To build positive working relationships with Handling Agents / Suppliers / Internal departments / Other group companies
  • To ensure targets are met within your allocated areas
  • Work to the set Health & Safety policies and procedures whilst using experience and initiative
  • To check, log, organise and action where applicable submitted Accommodation (Client & Staff), Excursion and Transport audits
  • Identify and resolve any H&S/Quality issues that may exist in the following areas: Accommodation, Fire Safety, Hygiene, Gas Safety, Disabled Facilities, Transfers, Customer Complaints, Customer Incident and Illness in allocated destinations
  • Plan and conduct audits on supplier premises and activity suppliers. Produce relevant reports, and chase / monitor follow-ups
  • Attend overseas briefings and oversee health & Safety training for staff in allocated supplier premises
  • Ensure Company Manuals and Policies are reviewed and kept up to date
  • Investigation of Accidents & Illness reports. Liaise with internal departments and our insurance & legal agents
  • Investigation of Customer Complaints relating to H&S
  • Gain a full working knowledge of the PASS audit system
  • UK office H&S

Databases & Audits

  • Use PASS system to organise, send, upload and grade self-assessment audits
  • Internal systems

Training / Knowledge

  • To maintain a good knowledge of industry news. Keep up to date with changes to laws, policies and procedures. Ensure that training remains up to date a relevant


  • Clean driving license (will be required to drive abroad)
  • Knowledge of French / German an advantage
  • Flexibility to travel overseas, sometimes at short notice
