We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join an expanding environmental services company based in Oxfordshire. You will be responsible for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of the Companies Health & Safety Management Systems. You will have experience working within a similar role in industry and hold a NEBOSH national general certificate.
Health & Safety Manager Responsibilities:
*Review and develop all aspects of the Companies Health & Safety Policy and activity, and ensure that it is implemented consistently across the Sites.
*Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health & safety legislation and ensure that the Company sites have systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance.
*Work proactively to maintain a program of continuous improvement in the management of Health & Safety within their areas of responsibility, includes conducting regular audits.
*Maintain a central record of all risk assessments ad monitor recordings, presenting data to MD.
*Identify areas for improvement and agree appropriate corrective action through monthly safety meetings you are responsible to hold.
*Maintain the accident and "near-miss" database and prepare reports for Health & Safety meetings, using statistical and other analytical tools, inform the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) of accidents or incidents that require notification.
*Design and deliver training sessions on key areas of sites activity in relation to Health & Safety and support the delivery of other training programs, including new staff induction training.
*Ensure compliance with, and implementation of, all Site policies and procedures that impact on the delivery of effective Health & Safety systems.
Health & Safety Manager Experience Required:
*Appropriate experience of operating in a similar role within a small to medium sized organisation
*Minimum qualification of a NEBOSH national general certification or equivalent
(proof of possession and validity will be required).
*Proven written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate information
*Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team
*IT literate, with the ability to use Microsoft office package
*Travel between sites based around the Oxfordshire area
Health & Safety Manager Desirables:
*Membership of IOSH
*Experience of delivering training sessions
*Ability to work under pressure and to defined deadlines
*Meticulous at checking detail
*Ability to organise workloads and prioritise
*Knowledge of current Health & Safety practices within the sector
*Strong practical understanding of relevant UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
*Applicants must have a full UK driving licence
