Health, Safety & Environmental Manager - Multi-site - Process facility

Leading Waste Management group is looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their fast paced processing facility in the East Midlands. This is a great opportunity for a NEBOSH Diploma qualified professional looking to develop their career in a very fast paced and high risk environment.

As the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager you will manage the overall function of the Health & Safety department to ensure that the company maintains the highest possible standards and to proactively promote those standards so as to continually improve the Health & Safety of the company employees. The aim is to ensure everyone in the company complies with health & safety laws. You will also be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace.

You will be support the Head of Health & Safety in setting and delivering the H,S & E strategy and develop and execute health & safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines. Setting clear responsibilities across the company to drive accountability for Health, Safety and Environmental through engagement, coaching & mentoring. Experience of working within a waste or heavy industry is desirable and previous people management experience is a must.

To be considered for the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager opportunity you must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and health and ideally CMIOSH, Chartered IOSH member or working towards. You will be results orientated, with desire and tenacity to deliver continuous improvement, demonstrating passion and a genuine enthusiasm for Health & Safety.

You will carry out Health, Safety and Environmental audits as required from time to time and assist with external audits and assessments to ensure ISO certification status and be responsible for ensuring environmental monitoring is conducted i.e noise, dust, water, discharges to ensure the continued compliance status of all Business Units and ensuring all Permits and Working Plans are in place.
