Working in a small but busy office, the post holder will be office based and will undertake paper-based H&S audits for businesses (both large and small) based on the SSiP Core Criteria.

You must already have a pass in NEBOSH General Certificate, and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate

You will be dealing with contractors and consultants by telephone and email, and will be required to have a detailed knowledge of the CDM regulations and importantly the ability to apply that knowledge in a practical manner, understanding the nature of the work being completed by the contractor and being clear on what evidence of their H&S management systems they would need to submit to demonstrate the core Competence.

This will include the review of documentation provided to demonstrate Core H&S competence covering areas such as:

o H&S Policy Statements

o Process for Monitoring Audit and Review

o Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, Risk and COSHH assessments

o Training Certificates and Training Plans

o HSE Enforcements or RIDDOR actions

o Internal and External H&S advice

The documentation will cover businesses primarily involved in construction covering:

o One-man operations to major UK construction companies

o Contractors, Consultants, Designers and Principal Designers

Full training will be provided in house and technical support will be available from the Lead Assessor. Candidates will be required to prioritise work to meet deadlines with minimal hands on direction or supervision.
