UTS are currently expanding their qualifications team and are now recruiting for an additional assessors with a background in Health and Social Care

This position will be based from our head office in Hertfordshire and your role will be to work with the team to deliver programmes within a variety of contracts in and around the Hertfordshire, Essex and London areas.
Applicants will need to be qualified to a minimum of level 3 in health and social care, either diploma or NVQ. Ideally you will also be qualified as an assessor, either with a TAQA, A1 or D32/33 however we are also interested to hear from applicants who are not yet assessor qualified but who do hold a level 3 or above in HSC and have a passion for developing others.
All applicants will need to demonstrate their experience and competence within a health and social care environment.
The Assessors role is to provide development and support to a range of learners within a health and social care environment who are working towards achieving a qualification.
You will be working with learners who are working towards achieving a level 2 or level 3 diploma or apprenticeship in health and social care. This will include:
- Carrying out inductions with your learners either individually or in groups
- Setting learner plans for assignments and performance criteria
- Assessing work and providing full feedback
- Carrying out observations of practice within the learner’s place of work as well as professional discussions
- Carrying out learner reviews to ensure that learners are motivated and achieving within the planned timelines and providing feedback to their managers and the organisation
If you are qualified above level 3 then there may also be opportunities to move on to assess higher level learners at level’s 4 and 5.
UTS have a training team who will deliver the training sessions for each of the programmes, pulling on their specialist areas of expertise. You will have the opportunity to sit in and support with these sessions which will support you with your on-going development and CPD.
You will report directly to a qualifications team manager who will support you with your cohort of learners. The team manager will set up your programmes and support you through these to ensure the successful achievement for your learners and that they achieve within the timescales of their plan.
The ideal person will be someone with a passion for the sector, someone who enjoys supporting others to learn and develop and can be adaptable to working with a range of different people and organisations.
You will be a good communicator, be IT literate and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
It is essential that all applicants hold a full driving licence, their own transport, are prepared to travel to a range of locations.
