Adept Resourcing Engineering and Technical Division are working with our established client to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

The Job:

  • Responsible for a set operational area
  • Ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace
  • Delivery of the Company Health & Safety strategy and initiatives for site / area
  • Provide health and safety advice to operations team, employees, visitors and contractors
  • Organising and planning of regular health and safety meetings
  • Develop a positive safety culture through effective coaching, training and activities
  • Audits and inspections to ensure legal compliance
  • Ensure the relevant operational area has the resource and facilities required for emergency situations
  • Ensure incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner including root cause analysis and corrective action is undertaken
  • Prepare and participate as required with external audits
  • Assist and support in the creation, implementation and review of Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures and Method Statements

The Candidate:

  • Qualified to NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
  • Behavioural safety and/or Root Cause analysis training/qualification (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of 18001 and experience of audits to this standard
  • Previous experience in a heavy industry
  • Proactive approach to Health and Safety
  • Keep up to date with industry H&S trends and practices
  • Experience in the implementation of initiatives that have a positive impact on workplace health and safety


Remuneration:

  • Up to £40,000
  • Days regular (7.45am - 4pm)
  • Potential for out of hours working to support operational requirements - time back given in lieu where possible
