Adecco is currently recruiting exclusively on behalf of one of the UKs most popular visitor attractions for a Health and Safety professional. This Museum has on average 5 million visitors per year and covers 12 acres within Central London. They are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Health and Safety Manager to manage various building structures, fire safety, inoculation processes, institute standards, operational labs and will manage all policy writing for the museum.

The successful candidate will have a Degree or Post Graduate Qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent Health and Safety vocational qualification, or experience as an Health and Safety practitioner at advanced level.

You will be considered a Health and Safety expert and will advise on all health and safety policy and procedure in relation to the museum. You will be carrying out the following duties within the museum:

1.Provide health & safety advice and expertise to the Trustees, Executive Board and Museum Managers. Draft policy and procedural documents to ensure that the Museum complies with all statutory requirements and is in a position to meet its obligations to its visitors, contractors and employees.
2.Ensure the health and safety management system is maintained to support transition to and on-going retention of ISO 45001.
3.Review and audit working practices within the Museum and make recommendations to ensure that the museum complies with health & safety best practice, and ISO 45001.
4.Act as an internal consultant over any construction-related Health and Safety issues. Participate in the planning teams and project groups for planned new exhibitions and major new works, providing advice on Health and Safety legislation.
5.Manage the work of the Health and Safety Advisor and Fire Safety Manager including (for instance) overseeing the programme of Display Screen Equipment Assessment, the arrangements put in place for first aid provision, and activities relating to Fire Safety.
6.Authorise purchases and subscriptions to be made from the Health and Safety Budget.
7.Oversee on-going development and maintenance of the electronic health and safety records management system (i.e. Rivo Safeguard) ensuring it keeps pace with legislative requirements and ISO 45001 standards.
8.To be the single point of contact for, and establish and operate effective liaison with the emergency services and regulatory bodies, such as the London Fire Brigade, London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency.
