Health and Safety Manager

On behalf or our client, who are a specialist building services company, I am seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager preferably from the construction/building services sector or similar to join their organsiation based in Central London (with European Travel)

Reporting to the Chief of Operations, Europe. The post holder will be responsible for the operational management and delivery of Companies Health and Safety responsibilities within the UK and across Europe.

Role Responsibilities

Work with the Operations leadership team and external consultants as necessary to create and manage the Company's Health and Safety Management System and ensure that our work places are safe, have received all relevant inspections, and the necessary certificates are held.
Ensure that all "assessments", as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals with appropriate records being maintained.
Prepare reports as required to ensure that Project Managers and the company's leadership team remain well informed about health and safety risks and incidents in order to continuously improve the Company's health and safety management system.
Manage the Incident Reporting system and ensure that any serious issues are brought to the attention of the Director of Operations, carrying out appropriate investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents and reported both internally and to the relevant country's health & safety authority.
Work with Managers and Directors to devise and monitor the quality of training plans to ensure training/ certification requirements are met to the standards imposed by Legislation, Codes of Practice or Country specific health and safety authorities for the particular types of work carried out within the Company's operations and sufficient records maintained.
Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Chief of Operations, Europe any relevant new legislation that may impact the Company's business

Knowledge & Qualifications
Extensive experience of delivering Health and Safety management and compliance across a multi-site business; preferably in the construction sector or with a similar health & safety risk profile.
NEBOSH National Diploma - or degree level qualification in Health and Safety Management.
Extensive knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies and best practice.
Detailed knowledge of current health and safety legislation, preferably in multiple European countries.
Spanish as a 2nd language desireable.
