Health and Safety Consultant/Principal Designer, Solihull. salary £25,000.00 up to £30,000.00 + £500.00 per month expenses.
The Company: An independent Principal Designer and Health and Safety advisory services in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.The Practice has advised on a wide range of projects with various construction techniques and degrees of complexity since introduction of the original regulations in 2007. These projects include operational facilities, historic buildings, schools, universities and difficult city centre sites ranging from £50k to £170m. We have the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to ensure successful service deliver to our clients regardless of the size or complexity of the construction project. Services are tailored to suit our clients’ business needs whilst ensuring compliance with the regulations and industry best practice.
The Role: Working from an office in Dorridge but working across the surrounding regions, you will cover a range of sectors including but not limited to: property, education and infrastructure. · Providing Health & Safety Services on both independent commissions and to complement our wider project delivery services · Production of pre-construction information, files and other associated CDM documents · Ensuring Designer compliance · Reviewing contractors documentation · Interfacing with clients and design teams on project basis · Site Inspections · Production of Risk/COSHH assessments · Pro-active in business development within the Midlands and surrounding regions · General admin duties · Keep updated with current legal developments in respect of construction and associated law. We require a Health & Safety consultant with suitable and relevant experience, ideally from a design or construction background Future development you’ll need: · Chartered/Professional Qualification in Health and Safety · NEBOSH qualified Construction Certificate · Member of APS / IOSH · Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook · Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDMC / CDM2015 and other Health & Safety Regulations · Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
The Candidate: To join us you’ll have: At least 2 years’ experience in the construction industry, with NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a minimum · Strong Communication skills - experience of communicating with people at differing levels effectively through oral and written communication · Client facing skills - working with clients at a strategic/operational level and managing the relationships effectively · Strong Planning and Organising skills - able to prioritise workload and deadlines and manage change effectively · Effective problem resolution skills - solution orientated with the ability to manage problems and complaints assertively · Team work skills - ability to work with others to achieve team and personal targets or objectives · Self motivated · Overnight stays away occasionally · Have a car/prepared to travel most weeks
