Health and Safety Advisor

Due to a successful 2017 and growth in the business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety advisor with supervisory experience to head up the Health and Safety systems on site and assist the Managing Director with ADHOC supervisory duties. The Role

This is a varied position, both involving the health and safety aspect but also supervising production staff. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and instilling a company wide vision of best practice in relation to all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Advisor and mentor for all levels of employee
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and audits, ensuring policies and procedures are being properly implemented and keeping records of inspection findings
  • Ensuring all working practices including those of contractors and visitors are safe and comply with legislation
  • Developing internal policy
  • Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
  • Assisting where necessary with accident and near miss investigation ensuring any retraining or disciplinary procedures are followed in a consistent manner
  • Recording incidents/ accidents efficiently and correctly and producing statistics

The Candidate

  • Experience supervising staff in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Successful Candidates must hold a NEBOSH qualification or worked in a Health and Safety position in previous endeavours
  • Full understanding of Risk assessments and Health and safety legislation is essential
