Our client are a large government organisation and are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Adviser to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and support the Health and Safety Manager with systems management and oversight of health and safety reporting. You will also support managers and staff members in their responsibilities for health and safety in completing risk assessments and ensuring legal compliance with COSHH / PPE etc. The successful applicant will implement programmes to address priorities for health and safety improvements where identified or required. You will also provide sound timely professional, legal and technical advice and assistance to ensure effective health and safety management systems, incorporating risk assessment are maintained. You will monitor and maintain a record-keeping system and initiate necessary follow-up action.

The successful will hold NEBOSH or NCRQ diploma or certificate and CMIOSH or GradIOSH working towards chartered. To be considered for this role you will have significant experience in occupational safety and health in a large, complex organisation and in particular in health and safety management systems, risk assessments and controls, compliance, monitoring and recording, work place hazards and control measures. You will also experience of establishing and implementing action plans to ensure effective health and safety management. It is also important that you have experience of developing and delivering effective learning / training activities for a range of staff groups. You will also experience of writing policy and guidance and experience of analysing data and producing management information reports to senior management teams.
