We are currently recruiting for a head teacher on behalf of a leading education and children's services company in the UK offering independent behavioural care across the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes they focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone they support.

The School is a specialist residential and day school/6th Form College for children and young people with high functioning autism and associated co morbid conditions such as OCD, PDA and ADHD. They are committed to providing the highest level of education and care in a safe, positive environment and it is our intention that every pupil will achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development, take up new challenging goals and work hard to achieve them.

We are looking for an exceptional, hardworking and highly motivated Headteacher to:

  • lead high outcomes in the school and residential home and to provide vision, professional leadership, management and direction for the service
  • Promoting a secure foundation from which to achieve continuous improvement and high standards in all areas of the service's work.
  • To establish high quality education by effectively managing teaching and learning and using personalised learning to realise the potential of all children through a culture of excellence, equality and high expectations.

You will need to work in partnership with the School's infrastructure to lead and manage both employees and resources to ensure high standards of learning are achieved within the service, exceeding regulatory standarrds.

The post holder will currently be an innovative, inspirational, confident leader with previous experience in a senior leadership and management role (although not necessarily at Head Teacher level). You will be able to demonstrate experience of improving special educational needs provision, you are an enthusiastic and resilient leader who has the drive, ambition and high standards to build on our achievements and further develop the educational delivery to a position where it is recognised as 'best in class'.

You will combine an extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, with creative and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. An effective people manager, you have the interpersonal skills and high professional standards to engage with and motivate employees, learners and parents and the focus and drive needed for whole service management.
