Reed Hospitality have an exciting vacancy for a Head Pastry Chef within one of Aberdeen's most prestigious hotels.
We are searching for a skilled Pastry Chef with around 9-10 years of experience to join a passionate team, with an opportunity to start as soon as possible. Our client is based within a short drive from Aberdeen's city centre so drivers are preferred for this role, however those without transport may be considered.
Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the ideal candidate will be career motivated and have worked in a large scale hotel or events venue previously. Hosting a variety of events throughout the year, this venue runes a high volume, high quality operation where the Pastry team plays a vital part.
Key duties will be to manage and run the pastry section, with the assistance of a Chef De Partie. Training and development of your team will be required, in order to consistently strengthen their skill set. You will be a strong candidate with management experience, who can run and oversee operations independently or with little supervision. Sourcing quality produce and stock will be essential, as there are often bespoke menus and requests made by clients.
The hotel boasts a fantastic range of events spaces which cater for weddings, corporate events and special occasions, so experience within a high-volume environment is required. Operating at Rosette level, there is real career progression available here as the team expands and develops. This role will demand hard work from a committed chef, but will provide you with a number of benefits including competitive salary, career opportunities, staff meals, company-wide discounts and pension. They are able to offer live-in accommodation for anyone relocating to the area.
