Head Of Trust Services - Lincolnshire / Cambridgeshire
This is a new and active opportunity for a Head of Trust Services to join a leading law firm within their Private Client team.
This role will be pivotal in delivering the teams strategic aims over the course of the next few years in securing trustee compliance and profitable growth for the firm.
This firm holds a large portfolio of trusts, many holding extensive land, development, and business interests, often created in line the with firm’s strategic tax planning advice to our land and business-owning families.
The role will therefore encompass a range of responsibilities in delivering services both internally focussed in managing exposure to risk for the practice, and outwardly focussed in delivering a professional and streamlined service to a range of trustees. Key tasks will include;
- Overseeing creation and maintenance of trust database including but not limited to; the development of an interactive database of trust matters, detecting individual trusts from existing records, promoting trustee services to trustees, overseeing the streamlined retirement of former partners and the transition of new Trustees, providing regular reports on progress to Private Client Lead Partner.
- The provision of annual trust administration services including but not limited to; the preparation of annual report to trustees, preparation of annual trust accounts, cash flow management, preparation of annual trust tax returns, provision of tax advice to trustees and settlors and scheduling distributions to beneficiaries of the commissioning of such advice, collating details for provision to the partner accountancy practices, maintenance of internal compliance requirements plus liaising with intermediaries, stockbrokers, insurance brokers and land agents.
This role would suit a forward thinking and commercially minded individual who seeks out every opportunity to maximise income from internal cross- referrals, existing clients, and other professionals. This role will also hold targets for chargeable time, fee income generated, billing and fee collection.
This firm holds its own Trust Corporation and its services are offered as an alternative to the appointment of family and individual professionals. The Head of Trust Services will also be responsible for the maintenance of records and overseeing the completion of due diligence for such appointments.
Candidates must hold experience in managing a large trust portfolio, and will ideally hold a practice background within a legal or accountancy firm.
