Central London Borough recruiting for a Interim Head of Spatial Planning - Long Term - £60ph plus

This busy Central London Borough are currently recruiting for an interim Head of Spatial Planning to run a mixed team and lead on the Spatial Planning service for the Council. They have always had a large portfolio of Major Strategic projects and have seen a large number of Regeneration schemes over the past few years. Easy to access from both Overground and Underground stations, this Borough's planning team have always been deemed a great place to work.
Your new role
You will lead the Spatial Planning service for the Borough and you will be tasked with making a significant contribution to the regeneration of the Borough through the innovative and practical application of spatial planning skills to ensure that the vision for the borough is identified, expressed and communicated through the local plan and associated documents.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have worked at a leadership level ideally within a London Borough and have knowledge of Policy, Urban Design & Heritage and Infrastructure as these will be the teams you will be managing. You will hold a RTPI accredited postgraduate degree and ideally membership of the RTPI or RICS. Ideally you will hold a management qualification and you will have evidence of relevant CPD. Key skills include comprehensive understanding of current issues and development affecting planning, regeneration and local governments in London, Understanding of central government and development plan policy issues as well as knowledge of related legislation and local political priorities.
What you'll get in return
A long term contract on a healthy hourly rate of between £50ph and £65ph for the right experience. If it suits both parties the role could become permanent as well. They offer some flexible working within reason and the office is easily accessible by public transport. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a very busy London borough and help shape the team following this restructure.
