As a result of our successes over the last year, we are currently designing and making plans to deliver a new model of care for general practice; New Practice Model (NPM) and are now looking for a Head of Service to join this team on a permanent, full time basis. Working with a leading Pharmacy Partner, the model aims to provide an enhanced service to NHS patients through the use of technology, remote care and local services delivered from our Pharmacy Partner sites. This new way of delivering general practice services in the UK will utilise Care UK’s extensive clinical contact centre capability as well as optimising patient experience and service quality through use of a comprehensive online capability. The job will be mainly based at our Call Centre in Brierley Hill, however you will need to travel to other sites from time to time. This job will provide an opportunity to really shape the delivery of a transformational model of care. As a result of this, aspects of the role are likely subject to change as we define and grow the service together. As the Head of Service you’ll be responsible for: • Recruiting, developing and leading a high performing team of operational and clinical staff • Managing Service Managers based at the local geographies of the services in the NPM. • Working closely with the Project Team to develop, manage & lead the delivery and growth of the NPM. • Ensuring appropriate governance arrangements are in place for the delivery of the service, including compliance with CQC, Information Governance and Health & Safety requirements. This may mean you will be required to become the CQC Registered Manager. • Ensuring effective financial performance and budgetary management in line with targets • Representing Care UK at meetings with commissioners, NHSE, CCG Leads and Pharmacy Partner and other external companies. • Providing regular, high quality management information and updates to the project & senior team as required.

The Requirements

Essential: • Previous experience of General Practice • Experienced in delivering healthcare services at multiple locations. • Experience of working within external partners and commissioners of healthcare (either from working for a service provider or in an NHS organisation) • Previous management experience • Experience of working to CQC requirements • Experienced in problem solving and conflict resolution Desirable: • Previously a CQC Registered Manager • Understanding of technology to support healthcare delivery • Previous experience with EMIS • Previously mobilised new services

This is a permanent, full time position, working 37.5 hours per week.
