VNA Education is working with a high-performing secondary school to appoint an outstanding Head of Science to lead a large, successful and well-established department across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

This is a significant opportunity for an ambitious science leader to drive curriculum excellence, staff development and exceptional student outcomes across combined science, triple science and post-16 pathways

The Role

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Science across the school
• Lead curriculum design, sequencing and assessment from KS3 to KS5
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement
• Use data and research to identify underperformance and secure improvement
• Lead, coach and develop a large team of science specialists
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and leadership priorities

The Person

• Qualified teacher (QTS) with strong subject expertise in Science
• Proven or emerging Head of Department / senior subject leadership experience
• Deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
• Confident in using data to drive outcomes at scale
• Credible, resilient leader with strong professional presence
• Clear commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high expectations
