Head of Sales
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the position of Head of Sales to join the team at Osprey Europe’s purpose built Headquarters in Poole, Dorset.
This new role has been created as a result of the company’s success and rapid growth, and is expected to evolve as Osprey Europe continues to expand. This is a fast-paced, innovative company which prides itself on delivering high quality products and excellent customer service.

About the Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Head of Sales will be responsible for leading and motivating the sales team to deliver growth throughout Europe. The role oversees all sales activities including personal responsibility for certain key accounts and account management through direct sales team, agents and distributors. Additionally, managing and measuring the provision of exceptional training throughout Europe. The role will also involve organising European sales meetings and trade shows and attending global brand meetings.
The Head of Sales will exceed commercial targets through effective account management and visits to customer sites and will develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the Company.
About the Ideal Person
The role requires a strategic thinker who is commercially astute and an experienced people manager with a proven track record of successfully managing sales teams and driving growth.
To apply it is essential you have:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ leadership experience working in a senior sales role
- Worked in a similar role within the outdoor (preferable) or sports industry
- A proven track record of beating targets and driving sales growth
- Experience of leading a sales team with strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience of recruiting, appraising, managing performance and motivating team members to achieve best results
- The ability to identify and utilise new opportunities
Experience of European retail and distribution would be advantageous but not essential.
You must be highly motivated with drive to succeed and have a passion for sales. With an assertive approach, the ability to challenge and to make quick decisions, you will have strong organisational skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. You will also be proactive and target driven with sound negotiation and presentation skills.
You must have the ability and willingness to travel extensively and hold a valid passport and driving licence.
