You will be working for a leading Facilities Management company who have partnered with a well known East Sussex University to improve the campus experience for students and all campus users.
Lead the activity to ensure retention of accreditations (9001, 14001 and 18001)
Manage Comprehensive Audit Programme for all contracts to monitor compliance and ensure external accreditation requirements are being maintained.
Lead environmental activities
Build and develop effective, collaborative working relationships which will positively improve the health and safety culture within the estate.
Champion the use of QSHE IMS and mentor managers to enable them to maintain compliant contracts - identifying trends and delivering initiatives and interventions to bring about compliance performance improvements.
Ensure the development of the behavioural safety culture across the Estate and develop a motivational and rewarding working environment that will facilitate the achievement of business tactical objectives.
Deliver Business Continuity plans and testing to enable a detailed continuity plan for the estates function, with at least a six monthly desktop exercise undertaken.
Work with other QSHE Advisers to share best practice and raise QSHE policy/practice issues.
Provide detailed monthly reports to inform the shaping of QSHE strategy, policy and product development.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Experience of working in a higher education, research or similar environment - preferable
Proven leadership skills and experience.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent/NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health & Safety
CQI Diploma desirable
Demonstrable track record of devising and implementing successful Quality and Environment activties
Solid and up to date knowledge of practical QSHE principles and practices as well as QSHE legislation.
