They now require a Head Of Psychology to take full responsibility for the Psychology department at a leading 150 bed mental health hospital. This hospital provides care and rehabilitation to Adults and Children who have complex needs including an acute mental illness.
This unique organisation is now looking to recruit an experienced Head of Psychology to lead the Psychology department and ensure the hospital continues to deliver high quality Psychological assessments and treatments. You will work in partnership with the Hospital Senior Management team to promote the services across the UK and provide clear and direct leadership to the Psychology department. Supported by the Lead Psychologists in each service you will ensure that the leads supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by the psychologists. Together with the Senior Management team you will provide professional guidance and exercise lead responsibility to the systematic governance of psychological practice within the teams. You will be expected to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and propose and implement policy changes as and where necessary. This role is key to the overall management of the Hospital and development of the model of care.
You will be an experienced Senior Clinical Psychology Professional with over 5 years Psychology experience at management level.
You will have an excellent track record of managing large clinical teams and have extensive knowledge of using complex methods of Assessment, intervention, treatment and management.
You will have exceptional communication skills orally and in writing and possess the ability to organise time effectively.
You will be comfortable using your own initiative and be able to work under supervision where appropriate.
You will have had some exposure to budget management and have a sound knowledge of legislation in relation to the Mental Health Act.
You will hold registered clinical consultant status with the HCPC and hold a relevant leadership or management qualification.
You will have experience of working within a CAMHS, PICU, PD, Deaf, forensic or rehab setting
