The Head of People & Culture Opportunity:
We are a fast-paced, high-growth and ambitious business - attributes which have created an opening for this newly appointed role as Head of People. The successful applicant will lead the development and implementation of people strategies, which support the company's mission, vision and strategic goals.
The Head of People will focus heavily on building the brand and internal culture so that it becomes, and is perceived as, a best-in-class company to work for.
The role will lead the whole People function, from talent acquisition through to people development, retention and succession planning - whilst providing the best possible HR service across the business.
+ Driving HR strategy and co-ordinating HR initiatives that align the company’s goals and mission/vision, particularly in relation to employee engagement and retention
+ Responsible for the development and achievement of the People strategies and objectives
+ Accountable for providing best in class service across all elements of the People function including talent attraction, recruitment, induction, engagement, reward, retention, and talent development
+ Supporting business leaders to develop a high performance culture focused on achievement and continuous development
+ Facilitating effective communication across departments and from business leaders throughout the organisation and advising the leadership team on employee impact of business initiatives, projects, policies and procedures
+ Implementing initiatives to promote us as an employer of choice
+ Overseeing recruitment for all departments across the business, understanding how to attract and retain talent in an competitive market particularly for specialist skill areas
+ Developing the strategic and operational use of HR data to guide business decisions
+ Leading the L&D agenda and implementing a structured training needs analysis to identify and maximise the potential of talent within the team
+ Leading talent development and succession planning appropriate for the future of this fast-paced business
+ Leading People-related projects with the support of the HR Manager
+ Prepare and manage financial budgets for the department and assisting business leaders with people budgets across departments
+ Act as the final escalation point as an advisor on complex ER issues and maintaining compliance with employment legislation at all times
+ Act as a role model for leadership and people development
Ideal Candidate Specification:
+ Proven experience in a similar senior level role, leading a successful HR team in a fast-paced, high performance work environment (Preferably from a digital / tech / fast-growth company
+ Significant experience in leading organisations, senior managers, and teams through organisational change driving a performance culture and developing high performing leaders and teams
+ CIPD Level 7 qualified and evidence of CPD (Continuous Professional Development)
+ Experience working as part of a leadership team and advising managers at Director / C-Level
+ Strategic understanding of People agendas and best in class practices
+ Full breadth of experience in managing talent attraction, recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, organisational change and culture development
+ Experience in developing organisational culture in a high growth SME
+ Ability to act as a role model for working collaboratively, leadership, and valuing and developing employees
+ Excellent communicator and a deep understanding of employee engagement
+ Innovative and strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into people strategy
+ Strong numerically with the ability to interrogate and interpret data to a high level
