Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our public sector client to recruit for an Interim Head of Outbreak Management Response. This is on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months, commencing October 2021,with possibility of extension for a further 6 Months.

This role will be home working initially, and when restrictions end will be asked to work flexibly from home and between Glasgow and /or Edinburgh offices.

Daily Rate- £950 per day (Inside IR35) Via Umbrella

Hours of work - 9 am - 5 pm (with on call required at weekends) 37.5 hours over 5 days Monday - Friday.

Role Description;

Recruitment of senior manager (Deputy Director level) to provide support to the COVID-19 Director and manage teams working on Outbreak Management Response and Community Surveillance.

Essential Skills, Competences and Experience;

" Extensive knowledge and understanding of the workings of Scottish Government at a senior level comprising:
" Significant and successful experience of working with Ministers and senior stakeholders.
" A track record of effective relationship-building within government and with senior external stakeholders.
" Broad experience in developing operational and incident management, preferably in high profile areas.
" A track record of collaborative leadership; building enabled, empowered, flexible and resilient teams and individuals; deploying resource strategically to meet demand.
" A knowledge of different administrations within the UK.
" A proven track record of political acuity and ability to develop and understand complex concepts.
" Experience evidencing the ability to communicate at the highest level (including to Parliamentary Committees) to explain complex concepts in accessible ways
" A proven track record in successful policy development in government.
" A track record in building, leading and managing teams
" An ability to influence strategic policy thinking in cross-cutting environments
" An ability to ensure operational deliverability as well as strategic policy development
" An ability to drive forward and influence to achieve policy outcomes in cross-cutting areas in engaging with sectoral specific leads.
" A track record in building (including recruitment), leading and managing multi-operational teams
" An ability to influence strategic policy thinking in fast moving, cross-cutting environments
" Ensure operational deliverability is balanced against strategic policy development.
" Drive forward and influence key stakeholder to achieve policy outcomes in cross-cutting areas engaging with sectoral specific leads.
" Ability to think and work under pressure often with tight deadlines and demands.

Desirable Skills;

" Any recent health experience especially working with Public Health organisations, Directors of Public Health and regional health boards.
" Development and/or understanding of scientific and technical advice to support government decision makers.
