Job Location: Bath, South West
Job salary: £65,000 - 85,000 per annum

Kelly Services is partnering with an SME Financial Services organisation who have grown exponentially in the past two years, working underneath a charismatic, ambitious, and approachable CEO and management team. We are recruiting the significant position of Head of Operations to support the Board.

The organisation has grown since a recent successful acquisition, where they have maintained and grown a busy workforce, building a strong employer and customer brand. They are based over 3 offices across the south of England, working with a variety of individuals and organisations offering a variety of different financial services products including Wealth Management and Employee Benefits.

Your new Job

This Head of Operations post is reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, where you will be the key link between the board and company employees.  You will work with the Board to design key Business strategies, where you will ensure that the organisation runs efficiently, delivers excellence, and surpasses customer expectations.

Key projects, including change projects, will fall to you to implement alongside other internal stakeholders. This could potentially include large changes such as mergers, acquisitions, restructures, as well as more minor procedural changes.

As a customer-centric business they are focused on performance, making improvements where necessary. You will be responsible for challenging performance through careful analysis of workload and resource planning. Measurements are in place to ensure that quality service is maintained, therefore enforcing these consistently will be key. Any fluctuations in performance must be addressed.  Recording accurate data and communication falls under the remit of this role, where systems are integral for employees to process information quickly and accurately. Any developments in Processes or Systems should be implemented where necessary.

Skills you need to succeed

It is integral that you hold experience within the Financial Services sector in order to fully understand the regulatory requirements, as well as understand the relationships between the industry and the customer. You will be responsible for promoting compliance, ensuring controls are in place to achieve quality standards. Commercial acumen is key, so experience with budgetary responsibility is required.

You will be expected to translate the vision of the strategic of the board into actionable steps, working with key stakeholders to deliver results. Softer skills are integral for managing your direct reports, coaching and mentoring individuals to ensure that they have the skills to deliver results in their key areas.

The perfect candidate will have Change Management, Project Management and Systems Implementation experience at a senior, company-wide level, although candidates who have covered 2 of these aspects will be considered.
