Are you a passionate Music specialist looking to take a lead role at an Independent school in East London?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in collaboration with an Independent school in Tower Hamlets, to secure an enthusiastic, self-motivated and suitably qualified Music specialist who can demonstrate effective teaching and lead Music throughout the school.
This coveted role commences in September and the school can offer salaries of well above the National pay scales. Salaries start at £37500 - £44221.

The non-selective and inclusive independent school is a co-educational day school for primary aged pupils set in large grounds in East London. Recently refurbished, the school was established in 1948 and set out to provide the best education possible for children, establishing a modern outlook on primary education while ensuring that it retains the key values on which it was first founded.

The school has gained an enviable record of excellence and achievement for boys and girls from 2½ to 13 years of age. Children and parents are guided through the education process to ensure the children attain the highest standards and meet their potential.
Class sizes are small with at least one additional adult in each class.
As the successful applicant, you will be a creative and passionate musician, who can plan engaging lessons to suit the individual needs of a group or child; teach children to play an instrument and to read Music; assist children in preparing them for Music exams and performances. Great interpersonal skills and the ability to encourage and engage children, a must.

The school are looking for a qualified Music specialist who possesses the following qualities:
*Recent experience of teaching Music in an Independent or mainstream Primary School
*Sound knowledge and understanding of the British Primary Music curriculum
*Experience of organising extra-curricular activities and performances
*An understanding of National examination and extra-curricular requirements of Music
*Choral direction and conducting skills

Job Requirements
*Hold QTS status or equivalent Music teaching qualification
*Overseas Trained Teachers will be considered if you have a comparable qualification with a UK teaching qualification and you can comply with the other points
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
*Experience of teaching Music in a mainstream or Independent school
