We are recruiting for a dynamic and dedicated Head of IT to provide my client with leadership in all areas of information Management and technology. You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for ensuring high performance and confident delivery of your department; providing professional leadership and guidance in ensuring the Hospital designs and implements IM&T strategy in line with its business and clinical objectives.
This IT department comprises both application and infrastructure engineers, with a remit to support, maintain and develop the IT systems within the hospital.

What will I do as the new Head of IT?
The new Head of IT will be responsible for the day today management of the IT department as well as for managing and leading IT elements of Hospital projects (including HR and Payroll system implementation, PAS systems upgrades and replacements, and Information Governance systems along with Call Centre technologies), providing updates to the Hospital’s Management Board and project steering groups as required, and ensuring deadlines are achieved at each stage of the projects. Your role will include developing and implementing an integrated approach to meeting the Hospital’s systems requirements across all locations, along with facilitating the implementation of the systems, technologies and applications through the IT team by effectively leading and managing the team, leading by example and being operationally involved where appropriate.
As well as establishing appropriate IT training and staff development programmes, monitoring and managing the delivery of services by external contractors and driving continuous improvement in the Hospitals IT infrastructure and systems. Ensuring that the hospital systems meet regulations relating to Data Protection and GDPR will also come under the remit of the Head of IT.
Am I the right person for this Head of IT role?
The new Head of IT must have proven hands on experience of VMware, Citrix Xenapp, Networking (ideally CCNA min), Storage solutions and Microsoft server technologies. You are likely to have a minimum of 5-10 years experience with a track record of delivery of IT system implementation and improvements, ideally delivered within Healthcare.
