Head of Indirect Procurement

As head of indirect procurement some of your key responsibilities will be the following:-
- Leading a large team across all indirect spend in global business
Develop strong relationships with leaders and key decision-makers across the business in order to influence behaviours and ensure appropriate involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
Leverage business scale through sourcing, demand management, and best practices through internal and external networking.
Implement robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes for existing and future requirements, ensuring metrics, governance, and actions are in place for continuous improvement.
Collaboratively develop plans with functional and business unit leadership to achieve aggressive annual cost reduction targets, improve supplier performance, and implement continuous improvement plans across indirect spend.
Collaborate with other Heads of Procurement to develop and enhance systems, process, and best practice sharing to help achieve best in class performance, and bring consistency to sourcing activities.
Develop robust category plans that shape the team's priorities and track actual against planned progress, ensuring due cognisance of the requirements and inputs from the other Procurement Teams
Become a trusted advisor to senior executives, able to influence expenditure in areas that are not sourced in the traditional sense due to circumstances involving high degrees of confidentiality, high degrees of functional specialisation, and relationships between executives and suppliers.
If you are the successful head of indirect procurement you will demonstrate the following:-
Ability to network and build strong relationships with senior executives.
- Good listening skills and able to focus on issues critical to senior leaders.
Communicate concisely and steer conversation towards decisions needed.
Knowledge of the Category Management tools and processes is critical.
Highly customer focused and concerned with meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Highly results oriented. Keeps the organisation on track and delivery oriented.
A clear leader that is both a 'doer' to 'leader' and can comfortably adapt style to teach, coach, or delegate, as appropriate.
Emotionally intelligent and comfortably relates to many different types of people. Is personally self-aware of strengths and weaknesses.
