A Head of Inclusion is required by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) to lead the development of a compelling equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) strategy for SASH.

You will be based at East Surrey Hospital, but travel will be required to services we also provide at Crawley Hospital, Oxted Health Centre, Horsham Hospital and the Earlswood Centre.

The role of Head of Inclusion is crucial to the delivery of the Trusts overall One Team Inclusion Strategy and is also expected to be a role model for the Trust values and leadership expectations; delivering to the highest standards, leading and promoting a positive inclusive culture throughout the organisation.

The leadership, delivery, and direction of the Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) portfolio across the organisation will be your responsibility. This includes the development and evaluation of the effectiveness of the strategic plan. Identify and recommend ways in which to improve KPI’s and to have robust reporting skills to enable effective analysis of key data including the Workforce Race Equality scheme (WRES) and Workforce Disability Equality scheme (WDES) and the Equality Delivery System (EDS)2.

To champion the sharing of good practice and implementation of inclusion in service delivery for our patients and carers as well as helping to enhance patient experience. This will include work with each clinical and corporate division to promote best practice and understanding of the need for cultural awareness in service provision.

You will also work with the Director of Organisational Development & People and the Director of Corporate Affairs in the development and delivery of comprehensive inclusion training for the Trust Board and senior leaders.
