As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) with overall accountability and leadership responsibility for an in-house HR Services team which comprises:

  • Employment Contracts and administration
  • Payroll and benefits
  • Employee Engagement
  • HR analytics

The team supports a workforce of over 5000 in terms of its global responsibility and 3,500 in terms of tasks associated with the UK workforce only.

Key Deliverables:

You will lead, manage and coach the HR Services team on a day to day basis to ensure it provides:

  • an excellent first point of contact advisory service for managers and employees requiring advice or information relating to, terms and conditions, pay and benefits, people management and HR analytics
  • full HR employee life cycle transactional activity and services including employment offers and onboarding, pay and benefits, variations to terms and conditions, employee surveys and exit surveys

Other key deliverables:

  • As a member of the HR SMT, contributing to business planning and business plan delivery and review, budget setting and budget management and leadership of the HR department
  • Holding the portfolio for 'Improving HR’ which involves developing, maintaining and improving consistent ways of working and ensuring processes are documented
  • Leading the annual Salary and Bonus Review processes
  • Ensuring data integrity in the various systems currently in use by the team

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

·A track record of managing people within a multi-faceted and cross functional HR Service Centre environment

·Strong administration experience including in depth knowledge of HR systems, processes, spreadsheets and HR reporting

·Experience of reviewing and improving processes and developing, implementing and monitoring performance

·Proven experience of supplier and customer focused service management

Skills:

·Ability to work strategically with a senior management team whilst also being capable of relating to and delivering detail

·Strong people management and coaching skills and the ability to make tough decisions if necessary

·Ability to lead a team with a broad and diverse portfolio of work and a range of skills, and able to deal with escalations in each area of the team

·Proven ability of building relationships, influencing, decision making and a partnering approach to service delivery

·Excellent organisational skills

·Degree level educated and member of the CIPD

·Experience of managing a team through major and complex change

·Strong commercial and financial awareness.
