A fantastic new Head of HR role has arisen in Banbury, working for well-established supplier and distributor. The role requires a dynamic and experienced individual with a strong operational and strategic HR background who can hit the ground running.

The Role

The purpose of the Head of HR will be to have overall responsibility for group-wide HR strategy & operational activity across two sites. This will cover resourcing, recruiting, Training & Development, legislation, performance and best practice.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Line management of HR team
  • Develop and implement a flexible and feasible annual HR strategy, in line with business plan
  • Ensure best practice and compliance with employment law
  • Day to day support to line managers on all HR issues
  • Heavy involvement in recruitment processes, supporting line managers and HR team with a range of tasks such as second round interviews and creation of job descriptions
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies
  • Lead on staff training and development
  • Regular communication with company board
  • Management of all Employee Relation matters including absences, performance, disciplinaries and settlements
  • Updating policies & procedures in line with up to date employment law / legislation

Skills & Experience

  • Fully CIPD-qualified
  • Minimum of FIVE years HR management experience
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of employment law, able to apply to day-to-day situations
  • Forward planning skills
  • Logical problem-solver, with a collaborative approach to solutions
  • Sound decision maker

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Influential personality, able to communicate effectively to all levels
