About the Role

A position has become available for a senior HR professional to join Mamas & Papas as a Head of HR on a 12 month fixed term contract. The Head of HR is responsible for Recruitment, Employee Relations and Pay & Benefits across the Mamas & Papas group. You will be accountable for the design, implementation and execution of the HR strategy, ensuring that it aligns with and contributes to the organisation achieving its overall business plan.

Reporting to the Legal & Compliance Director, the role will cover the following key responsibilities:

  • You will manage and develop the Recruitment, Employee Relations and Pay & Benefits teams, ensuring that a consistent, accurate and commercial service is provided that is in line with the Company’s ‘ways of working’ and policies and procedures;
  • You will develop and implement new ‘added value’ people initiatives in the areas of employee engagement, management development, reward and recognition, performance management and pay and benefits.
  • You will represent the HR team at Board meetings as and when required to discuss topics such as engagement and legislative changes;
  • You will ensure that all aspects of the ‘employee life cycle’ from on-boarding through to on-going professional development and progression are fit for purpose and aligned to the overall business plan;
  • You will deal with complex employee relations issues such as restructures, redundancies and settlement agreements.

About the Person

We’re looking for an existing Head of HR who is ready for a new challenge or alternatively a Senior HR Manager/Business Partner who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will be CIPD qualified with at least 5 years HR experience. You will have the ability to build strong, collaborative and influential working relationships and have a strong commercial acumen combined with a customer and results focused approach. You will be highly organised with the ability to work at pace to the commercial needs of the business, but most of all you will have a positive, can do attitude with a clear passion for HR. Experience of working in a retail head office environment well as expertise in the area of employee engagement would be advantageous.
